The best PrestaShop modules to install in 2026 (by category)
A curated stack of PrestaShop modules worth installing on a serious shop in 2026 — by category, with honest mentions of competitors.

Most "best PrestaShop modules" lists are SEO-bait sponsored content. This one isn't — we sell some of these modules ourselves, we'll be upfront about which, and we'll mention competitors that are actually good. The goal is to save you the 20 hours of "is this module any good" research that a real merchant goes through.
Stack assumes: PrestaShop 8.x or 9.x, EU-focused, 1k–100k SKUs, no in-house developer.
Search
- NP Search (our module) — self-hosted, €89 one-time. The right pick for stores under 500k SKUs not paying for SaaS personalization. See the full search comparison.
- Doofinder — SaaS, the marketplace incumbent. Right pick if you want hosted dashboards and don't mind the recurring fee.
Age / Compliance Gate
- NP AgeVerify (our module) — self-hosted, €49 one-time. Per-country thresholds, GDPR-friendly cookie storage, bot bypass. Vape, alcohol, CBD verticals.
- Built-in alternative: some themes (Warehouse, Belle) ship a basic age-gate. Use that if you only need the minimal case (one country, one age, no per-country logic).
Loyalty / Rewards
- NP Rewards Pro (our module) — self-hosted, €129 one-time. Multi-tier Nivel system, customer wallet, cashback payouts, 11 transactional emails in 7 languages.
- PrestaShop built-in loyalty — basic voucher generator, no tiers, no analytics. Use only if loyalty isn't strategic to your shop.
- LoyaltyLion / Smile.io — SaaS, work via API. Right pick at 500+ monthly orders with dedicated merchandising team. See the loyalty SaaS comparison.
SEO + Indexing
- SEO Pro (PrestaShop Addons) — meta tags, schema markup, sitemap. Mostly built-in to PS 8.x + 9.x already, but this adds polish for shops with serious SEO programmes.
- Yoast for PrestaShop — port of the WP Yoast. Slightly heavier; if you came from WP and like the workflow, consider it.
Email + Transactional
- Mailchimp / Klaviyo / Brevo — SaaS. All three have PrestaShop modules. Pick by which one matches your email marketing stack already.
- Resend or Postmark for transactional only — worth replacing the default PHP mail() with a real transactional provider once you're past €5k/month revenue.
Performance + Caching
- Litespeed Cache (if you're on Litespeed/Openlitespeed hosting) — by far the highest-ROI install. Free.
- JCH Optimize — CSS/JS minification + combination. Use cautiously with PS9 (Asset Manager refactored).
- Cloudflare in front of your shop — free tier is enough for most. WAF + DDoS + CDN + image optimization. No PrestaShop integration needed; it's transparent.
Multi-currency
- Built-in — PrestaShop ships currency support natively. Use that unless you have multi-country pricing logic that needs Stripe Tax or similar.
Payment
- Stripe — the only EU-friendly Stripe module you should consider is the official "Stripe Payments" module. Other "Stripe" modules on Addons are wrappers.
- PayPlug — French Stripe-style processor with better French bank integration; consider if your customer base is FR-heavy.
- Mollie — EU-native, supports the local payment methods (iDEAL, Bancontact, Giropay, etc.).
Shipping
- Sendcloud — multi-carrier label printing + rate-shopping. Worth it past €10k/month.
- Colissimo + Mondial Relay + GLS — direct integrations from each carrier, free, good for single-carrier shops.
Reviews
- Trustpilot — when you actually want the third-party authority badge.
- Verified Reviews (Avis Vérifiés) — French GDPR-friendly alternative.
- Built-in PrestaShop reviews — fine for small shops, doesn't generate the schema.org review markup Google rewards.
The "you don't need it" category
Modules merchants over-install:
- Live chat. The conversion lift is real but smaller than vendors claim, and the support load is heavier. Defer until you have 200+ orders/month.
- Wishlist. PrestaShop's built-in wishlist works. Don't pay for a third-party one.
- Currency converter widgets. Use real currencies (with Stripe Tax) instead of a JavaScript currency converter.
- Multi-language translator modules. Get a real translator. Auto-translate is bad for SEO.
Bottom line
A serious PrestaShop 8/9 stack in 2026: a search module (us or Doofinder), age verification if you sell restricted goods, a loyalty module if you have repeat customers, Stripe + an EU local-payment processor, Cloudflare in front, Litespeed cache if your host supports it.
The rest is judgment calls based on your specific shop. The comparison posts on this blog cover the close calls.
