Broad product-discovery suite or focused search module?
Doofinder’s current plans include Search, Recommendations and Quiz Maker, with richer AI and personalization capabilities on higher tiers. NP Search does not include a recommender, quiz, visual search or conversational assistant. It focuses on a PrestaShop-native search path, facets, merchandising, local analytics and one bounded Profit Autopilot ranking signal.
Cloud service or merchant-operated software?
Doofinder processes catalogue content in its cloud service and its terms describe third-party cloud infrastructure. NP Search keeps catalogue, query, experiment and order telemetry in the merchant’s PrestaShop database. That removes an external search runtime, but it also makes indexing, capacity, backups and monitoring the merchant’s responsibility.
Usage-based subscription or fixed software licence?
Doofinder’s public plans set request limits per product and its official pricing FAQ explains which interactions count as requests. NP Search has no Neuroplugin per-query charge because the store runs the workload. The fee comparison is simple arithmetic; the operational value is not, so price should be evaluated alongside features, hosting and migration work.

- Does NP Search work on PrestaShop 9.1.4?
- The exact 2.13.4 package passed on PrestaShop 8.2.7 / PHP 8.1 and an exact-package smoke on 9.1.4 / PHP 8.2. Retained predecessor 2.13.2 evidence covers 8.0.5, 8.2.5, 9.0.3, PHP 8.3 and the wider Classic/Hummingbird matrix. A custom theme still needs storefront and checkout smoke tests.
- What happens if I do not buy optional NP Search updates?
- The delivered version keeps running and is not remotely disabled. The optional renewal provides newer packages and their published compatibility evidence. It does not guarantee that an older package will remain compatible with future PrestaShop, PHP, browser or theme releases.
- Will self-hosted indexing be faster or slower?
- There is no universal latency claim. NP Search uses a dedicated local index, but observed speed depends on catalogue size, database, server resources, theme and cache. Benchmark representative queries and index refresh on a staging copy before switching.
